Step 3 – Configure your Shelves

MDF Shelves offer a robust shelving solution for your Rack It System and can also be used to create a work bench.

MDF Shelves are available in 897 and 1197mm widths. To find the correct size, configure your shelves to match the width of your Beams in your Rack It 1000KG system.

This 1197mm MDF Shelf is specifically designed for use with 1264 and 2464mm Beams:

  • 1264mm Beams require 1x 1197mm MDF Shelf
  • 2464mm Beams require 2x 1197mm MDF Shelves

For 972, 1872, and 2765mm Beams, use 897mm MDF Shelves (I/N 2760250).

To install, just place the MDF Shelf into your already installed Beams and Braces to complete your robust 1000kg weight loading Shelves.

SAFETY

To ensure weight load capacity and shelf integrity this product must be used with the appropriate Shelf Support Braces.
MDF is designed for general purpose interior use only.
It is not suitable for outdoor use or areas where wetting or high humidity and moisture conditions are likely.
To further protect against surface mould that may disfigure the surface appearance, it is recommended to apply brush-on preservatives or a coat of paint.

For a garage storage setup with Rack It 1000KG, start with a base bay and add over time. Each shelf holds up to 1,000kg evenly distributed across a 645mm depth. Choose between MDF or Wire shelves. Add Drawer Kits, Pegboards, Hook Plates, and Castors (for 900mm Uprights only) as your storage needs expand. Level up with Rack It PRO Cabinets and Drawers.

Each shelf in the Rack It 1000KG range holds up to 1,000kg evenly distributed when the load is spread across the full shelf surface. Avoid point-loading at the edges and keep heavy gear central. Maximum 4 shelves per bay. Follow the anchoring instructions in the box every time.
